Background
Crypto.com Arena is a globally recognized and admired multi-purpose venue located in Downtown Los Angeles. Home to the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers, the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, and the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks, Crypto.com is an epicenter for live sports, high-profile events, performances, and globally televised shows.
Adjacent to Crypto.com Arena is L.A. LIVE, a four million square foot entertainment district featuring hotels and restaurants, Peacock Place, The GRAMMY Museum, and the home of the Primetime Emmy Awards – Peacock Theater.
The opportunity
Crypto.com Arena celebrated its 25th anniversary for the 2024-2025 season and is currently completing the fourth phase of its nine-figure, multi-million-dollar renovation project ahead of the 2025-2026 season kick-off in October. These renovations elevate the guest experience by adding new amenities for every fan including the addition of the Chick Hearn Plaza, which seamlessly connects Peacock Place at L.A. LIVE with the iconic arena.
Event Planning Simplified
The solution needed to make the planning process stress-free for guests and account for different user needs. To achieve this, three use cases were modeled:
Day of event – the guest arrives on campus and wants to know what’s available on that day in-venue and on campus.
Future specific event – the guest is planning on coming to an event at a specific venue in the future and wants to see the floorplan, and learn what will be open and available at that event. For example, a concert will have a different floor plan than a LA Lakers game , with different concession and activation locations open.
Planning a general visit – the guest is looking to visit L.A. LIVE, Crypto.com Arena, and/or Microsoft Theater and would like to see what is generally available at that venue.
Maximum Reach
Any guest with a smartphone needed to be able to access and use the platform by going to the website, clicking a link in an email, or scanning a QR code on-site. No downlonading required!
Simple content distribution & management
While each venue would be built on a separate instance, it was imperative that administrators could manage content for all venues through a single content management system.
In addition, allowing for content to be shared across instances would save time on initial population and ongoing updates.
the outcome
With help from the incredible team at Crypto.com Arena, L.A. LIVE, and Peacock Theater, we launched three venue-specific guest resources – visit.cryptoarena.com, visit.lalive.com, and visit.peacocktheater.com – each delivering visitors centralized information, event planning tools, and a detailed multi-level interactive venue map.
An integration with VenueNext (Shift4) enables automatic menu creation, menu management, and access to mobile ordering, while an integration with Carbonhouse CMS allows events to be dynamically created and assigned to each respective venue.
In a high traffic environment, where time wasted waiting and locating can lead to reduced guest satisfaction, Wayfyndr successfully provided all three venues with a friction-free resource for guests to access the information and resources needed to streamline and enhance their visit.
